Gabu, the Startup Ensuring Kid-Safe Gaming, Joins Techstars Miami

Gabu is a dedicated online gaming community tailored for children. Its primary mission is to create a secure environment where young gamers can enjoy their favorite titles without the typical concerns associated with online interactions. At Gabu, children are immersed in a safeguarded network, monitored continuously, ensuring not just an entertaining experience for them but also peace of mind for their parents.

Gabu was recently selected to be part of Techstars Miami, a startup accelerator program that focuses on helping more founders reach product-market fit faster. Startups in the program receive USD $120K in funding and assistance in raising additional capital.

Founded in 2021 by Fernando Corral Zermeño and Mario Garcia, the startup directly addresses the online safety challenges children face. Their research indicates that a staggering 3 out of every 5 children encounter cyber-bullying during gameplay.

To enhance the gaming experience, Gabu provides live 1-hour sessions with seasoned coaches, a well-moderated chat, and a plethora of both fun and educational games, including popular titles like Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite. This flexible setup allows children to play at their convenience. Simultaneously, Gabu ensures wholesome interactions and provides parents with insights into their child's social skill progression.
