Deep Agro, the Argentine AI AgTech Company, Raised USD $2M for Expansion into Brazil

Deep Agro is an artificial intelligence-powered Agtech startup founded by Juan Manuel Baruffaldi, Juan Ignacio Cavalieri, Juan Ignacio Cornet, Iván Regali, and Marcos Mammarella. The company evolved from a computer science thesis at the University of Rosario in Argentina into a practical tool for improving agricultural efficiency.

The company's core technology involves cameras on sprayers that differentiate crops from weeds, optimizing treatment and reducing the need for agrochemicals. This innovation led to Deep Agro's recognition at the Zurich Innovation Championship in 2020, highlighting its effective use of AI in agriculture.

With a new funding round of $2 million, led by Draco Capital and supported by other investors like Grupo Dacas, BYX Ventures, Innventure, and Pampa Start, Deep Agro is planning to expand into Brazil in February and eventually into the U.S. market. This capital will aid in the upcoming testing and validation stages in Brazil, as well as in integrating deep learning into their agricultural technology.

Deep Agro aims to be a key player in AI solutions for agriculture, leveraging its recent financial boost and innovative approach to enhance agricultural production globally.
