Mexico’s Koltin, Providing Health Insurance for Seniors, Raises USD $2.8M

Koltin is improving elderly healthcare in Latin America, addressing challenges in public healthcare and limited insurance options.

In Latin America, there's a growing aging population, and Koltin is ahead of the curve in recognizing and addressing the unique healthcare challenges they face. While public healthcare services can be unreliable, private health insurance is often out of reach for seniors in Mexico, with only 1 percent of those over 65 having such coverage. This leaves them reliant on costly private providers or underfunded public services.

Koltin is a digital health platform designed to deliver insurance and preventive healthcare services to the elderly population in Mexico. The platform is dedicated to offering specialized health plans and remote support services encompassing accident insurance, medical emergency coverage, protection against significant medical expenses, and unlimited expert guidance on preventive measures. Thanks to these services, seniors can extend their independence while preserving their physical and mental well-being.

The startup founded in 2021 by Carmen Rosillo and Edu Ortiz Reynaga recently raised USD $2.8M in a seed round led by Mucker Capital, and included the participation of Graph Ventures and Colectivo Jaguara.
