Jota Raises USD $30M Series A at a USD $185M Valuation

The Brazilian startup lets small business owners run their bank account and bookkeeping over WhatsApp using an AI assistant.

Jota gives small business owners in Brazil a business bank account they can run almost entirely through chat. Instead of logging into a banking app or spreadsheet, owners can text, send a voice note, or even snap a photo of a paper invoice, and Jota's AI assistant takes care of the rest — recording the transaction, generating financial reports, and calculating how much cash the business has on hand. Customers can also receive payments through QR codes.

The company has raised USD $30 million in a Series A round at a USD $185 million post-money valuation. The round was led by Haun Ventures, with HOF Capital, Alter Global, and Greyhound Capital also participating.

Jota currently serves around 300,000 users. With the new funding, the company plans to launch a lending product so customers can access credit when they need liquidity, and to roll out a more advanced, subscription-based version of its AI assistant for power users.
